Marilyn Sykes-Johnson, BSN, RN, TCRN
President since 2019, Weld County since 2015
Marilyn is an experienced ED/Trauma Nurse with years of service at North Colorado Medical Center as the Trauma Outreach Education and Injury Prevention Coordinator and Wellness Specialist. She is a member of the Emergency Nurses Association, the American Trauma Society and Society of Trauma Nurses. She is a certified instructor for TNCC, Stop the Bleed, Wilderness First Aid and CPR.
Cassie Green, BSN, RN, CEN, CFRN

Cassie is the Trauma Program Manager at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ft. Morgan, CO (Level III). She has been an RN for 18 years, with ER, Critical Care and Flight nursing experience. Brett Dowis BS, CC-P, NRP
Vice-President, Logan County since 2016
Brett is the EMS operations Lieutenant at Sterling Fire Department. He has been involved in rural EMS for over 23 years, with a background in Private, County, and Fire Based EMS. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical science from Colorado State University. Brett has served as a Primary EMS educator, SWAT Paramedic, and Field Training Officer. He is also the founder and executive director of SadieBug Charities INC.

Christine is the Trauma Program Manager at Medical Center of the Rockies and has been with UCHealth for 25 years. She has enjoyed caring for trauma patients her entire career. She is an ATCN and Stop the Bleed Instructor as well as a Colorado State Trauma Surveyor and is on the Performance Improvement subcommittee of the Colorado Trauma Network..
James Robinson, MA, LP

James is the CEO of the Thompson Valley Health Service District and the Chief of Thompson Valley EMS. He is a Colorado Native and 35-year veteran of emergency medical services (EMS), serving as an EMS provider and leader in volunteer, private and public EMS. He is active in local, regional, state and national EMS, public health, emergency management initiatives, including the Colorado Senate Bill 225 EMS Sustainability Taskforce.
Krista Terrell, RN

Krista obtained her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from UNC. She has been a nurse for 16 years and Trauma Nurse Coordinator for 9 years in a rural hospital in Eastern Colorado.
Travis W. Freeman, A.A.S, FP-C, NRP

Travis is the Director of Morgan County Ambulance Service and EMS Education Coordinator at Morgan Community College. He is in pursuit of a Bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration and represents rural Colorado on the State Emergency Medical Trauma Advisory Council (SEMTAC).

Pam has been in EMS for 29 years and is a Flight Nurse for UCHealth Lifeline and has also served on SEMTAC and helped develop the State Air Medical Licensing rules.

Josh Poles, DO
Regional Medical Director since 2019
Dr. Poles is a board certified Emergency Medicine physician. He is the EMS Medical Director for Longmont Fire Department, AIMS Community College Paramedic Program, Weld County Regional Communications Center and various other EMS educational programs. He completed medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and his Emergency Medicine residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. He has published papers on Targeted Temperature Management and dispatcher accuracy at predicting stroke.
Nick Nudell, PhD(c), MS, MPhil, NRP, FACPE
Executive Director since 2024
Nick has been a paramedic, leader, research scientist, and rural health consultant for many years. With a bachelor’s in IT management, a master’s in Information Security, and another in philosophy, he is working to complete his doctoral research in public policy.
