Announcements from the EMTS Branch
The EMTS Funding program opened for applications on Friday Dec. 15. Approximately $7.2 million is available for provider and system improvement grants. The program is open to organizations that provide emergency medical and trauma services in Colorado. Applicants must have a current CEMSIS profile to apply. The application period closes at 5:00 p.m. on Feb. 15, 2018. For more information please read the EMTS Funding Guide on our EMS and Trauma Funding page. A recent letter in JAMA Surgery compared the likelihood of neurologic trauma in motorcycle drivers and passengers and demonstrated a higher risk of neurologic trauma in passengers. As demonstrated in other studies, helmet use was protective compared to non-helmet use.
