About This Committee
The Education Committee enhances training and professional development for EMS and trauma care providers across Northeast Colorado. The committee coordinates educational programs, reviews course funding requests, and ensures training opportunities are accessible to providers across all nine counties regardless of agency size or location.
Curriculum Development
Advises on and develops educational curricula aligned with current best practices, regulatory standards, and the clinical priorities identified by the Board and Clinical & Professional Standards Committee.
Program Coordination
Organizes and promotes educational programs, workshops, seminars, and training events to enhance provider skills and meet continuing education requirements across the region.
Course Approval & Funding
Reviews course requests and approves or denies them based on regional need. Funding requests must be submitted by the second quarter meeting preceding the event. Post-event funding is not approved.
Pediatric Readiness
Leads pediatric readiness education for hospital and prehospital personnel across the region, including coordination of the regional Pediatric Readiness Summit.
Certification Pathways
Supports advanced and specialty certification pathways including PARAMEDICON (CP-C, CCP-C, FP-C, WP-C, TP-C) to strengthen clinical expertise across rural and frontier agencies.
Regional Collaboration
Partners with hospitals, educational institutions, and state and national organizations to broaden training access and develop shared instructor resources across the region.
Committee Structure
The Education Committee meets quarterly during the first month of each quarter, prior to the scheduled NCRETAC Board meeting. A majority of active members constitutes a quorum. Decisions are made by consensus; in the event of a tie, the Chair casts the deciding vote.
Chair
A current NCRETAC Board member, appointed by the President. Leads the committee, sets the agenda, and serves as liaison to the Board.
Co-Chair
A member with extensive EMS education experience, appointed by the Board. Supports the Chair and brings educational expertise to committee activities.
Members
EMS and trauma professionals, educators, and subject matter experts from across the region. Representation from all nine counties is encouraged.
