What NCRETAC Offers
NCRETAC’s educational programming falls into three categories. EMS providers, fire, law enforcement, hospital clinicians, and public health professionals working within the nine-county region are the primary beneficiary population for all programming.
Regional Conferences
High-acuity clinical education events
NCRETAC supports and funds regional conferences designed to deliver advanced clinical education for frontline providers and trauma clinicians. Current conferences include the Critical Care Course, PARAMEDICON, and the Eastern Plains EMS Conference. These events draw participants from within the region, from other Colorado counties, and from neighboring states.
Hosted Training Courses
Courses supported and funded by NCRETAC
NCRETAC supports and funds training courses including curriculum oversight, instructor coordination, and registration. Current examples include Austere Emergency Care and the Peer Support Academy. These courses address identified competency and wellness needs across the regional first responder and healthcare workforce.
Supported External Courses
Funding support for outside programs
NCRETAC supports and funds participation in standardized enrichment courses offered by partner organizations. Examples include TCAR, PHTLS, and TEMS. Support is available to regional providers and requires pre-approval by the Education Committee.
Registration and Funding Support
NCRETAC uses a three-tier registration system for all supported events. Providers working within the nine-county region receive priority access and subsidized rates. Understanding how the system works helps agencies plan participation effectively.
Tier 1: Regional
Licensed or certified EMS clinicians, trauma nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals employed by or affiliated with an agency, hospital, or healthcare organization within the nine-county NCRETAC service area. First priority for seats. Subsidized registration rate.
Tier 2: Out-of-Region Colorado
Providers licensed and practicing in Colorado outside the NCRETAC service area. Considered after Tier 1 seats are filled or the regional window closes. Intermediate rate. No NCRETAC subsidy.
Tier 3: Out-of-State
Providers whose primary licensure or affiliation is outside Colorado. Accepted on a space-available basis after Tier 1 and Tier 2 applicants are accommodated. Full cost of attendance. No subsidy.
Requesting funding support for an external course
Funding requests for externally offered courses must be submitted to the Education Committee in advance of the event. Post-event funding requests will not be approved. Contact the Education Committee chair or the Executive Director to initiate a request.
