NORTHEAST COLORADO
In Memoriam
Honoring the EMS providers, dispatchers, emergency medicine professionals, and public safety workers of Northeast Colorado we have lost, not only for how they died, but for how they lived, the shifts they worked, the lives they touched, and the communities they served.
This memorial is not limited to line-of-duty deaths. We recognize that the toll of this work extends beyond the call: to illness, to accidents, to mental health, and to all the ways we lose the people who give so much of themselves to others.
Why This Memorial Exists
First responders who die by suicide are often not counted in line-of-duty statistics. Their names are not read at memorials. Their families sometimes grieve alone, without the community acknowledgment that other line-of-duty deaths receive.
NCRETAC believes that every provider we lose deserves to be remembered, regardless of cause of death.
Honor the lives of those we have lost with dignity.
Acknowledge the full weight of the work they did.
Offer recognition for families and colleagues who may not have had it elsewhere.
Remind the profession why mental health support matters.
Memorial Entries
Memorial entries are submitted by families, colleagues, and friends of those we have lost. Entries appear here after review by NCRETAC staff.
This memorial is newly established. We invite families and colleagues to share the names and memories of those we have lost.
The Memorial Tree Program
For each person remembered through this memorial, NCRETAC plants a tree in northeast Colorado. The tree is a lasting, living acknowledgment: not a statistic, not a line in a report, but something that grows in the region they served.
Families and colleagues who submit a memorial entry will be notified when a tree is planted. Tree locations are selected in coordination with regional partners across the nine-county area.
