About This Committee
The Injury Prevention Committee reduces the incidence and impact of preventable injuries across Northeast Colorado. The committee identifies regional injury trends, develops public education campaigns, supports Stop the Bleed and AED programs, and collaborates with community partners to improve public safety across all nine counties.
Stop The Bleed
Coordinates regional Stop the Bleed training for schools, workplaces, and community organizations. Free training is available for groups across the nine-county region.

CPR & AED Programs
Supports CPR and AED training and the regional PulsePoint and AED program expansion to improve cardiac arrest survival rates across the region.
Data Analysis
Identifies regional injury trends through analysis of local, state, and national data to inform prevention priorities and target at-risk populations.
Community Education
Develops and delivers public education campaigns on fall prevention, motor vehicle safety, firearm storage, seatbelt use, and other injury prevention topics.
Partnership Building
Collaborates with local agencies, schools, healthcare organizations, law enforcement, and community groups to strengthen injury prevention efforts across the region.
Grant Support
Identifies funding opportunities and assists with grant applications to support injury prevention initiatives and expand program reach across the region.

Committee Structure
The Injury Prevention Committee meets quarterly or as needed, as determined by the Chair. A majority of active members constitutes a quorum. Decisions are made by consensus; in the event of a tie, the Chair casts the deciding vote.
Chair
A current NCRETAC Board member, appointed by the President. Leads the committee, sets the agenda, and serves as liaison to the Board.
Co-Chair
A member with experience in injury prevention or public health, appointed by the Board. Supports the Chair and brings relevant expertise to committee activities.
Members
EMS professionals, public health officials, educators, law enforcement representatives, and community advocates. Representation from all nine counties is encouraged.
The committee charter was approved March 17, 2026 and is available in the Committee Charters and Procedures Manual.
